Strawberry's Cottage at Oakhill Farm is on the doorstep of the Peak District, one of the most beautiful and inspiring parts of the British Isles. Here you can visit the industrial heritage of the Derwent Valley Mills world heritage site, explore historic houses and gardens such as Chatsworth or Hardwick Hall, or for the more adventurous take part in a range outdoor pursuits and activity days – from walking tours to quad-biking, caving to climbing – there's something for everyone.

Only 20 minutes drive time away Oakhill Farm is The Churnet Valley Railway, where you can journey back to the classic days of railway travel on a rural line that passes through beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire's 'Little Switzerland'.

Churnet's picturesque stations offer lots of interest with a complete range of visitor facilities, and there's plenty more to see and enjoy along the way. In addition to the 10 ½ mile return journey along the valley, there's a taste of contrasting moorland scenery on the 16-mile round trip along the Cauldon branch.

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your warm and comfortable cottage. Appreciated its absolute cleanliness. Lovely countryside all around – Staffordshire is a lovely secret little gem!"
